Back in 1985, an iconic moment was captured by sports photographer Chuck Kohn when he took a photograph of Michael Jordan donning the Air Jordan 1 Royals. This image, later transformed into a Nike poster, marked the very first public sighting of Michael wearing the Air Jordan 1 sneakers. Interestingly, the Royals held a special place in Jordan's heart as his preferred colorway, and he specifically selected them to be the inaugural Air Jordan 1 available for purchase. However, it is worth noting that despite their popularity, the Royals were the only colorway among the top three Air Jordan 1 Retro colorways (including the 'Banned' and 'Chicago') that Jordan never wore during his games on the court.
